SMIGI Toys

In this project we designed a series of developmental products for babies that includes teethers, hanging toys and pillows.

The design goal of the project was to produce cute toys, but not too "sweet" and not necessarily happy. Toys that legitimize a variety of emotions, are pleasant to the touch and invite the child to hug and find comfort in them.

Based on the above the design language was defined - the smile is present - subtle, sometimes implicit. The facial proportions of the dolls are baby like to enhance the feeling of "cuteness". The color palette is calm and harmonious. The toys develop the baby’s senses and motor skills, encouraging the understanding of action-result relationships and are tailored to be used by small hands.

In each of the products, there is a focus on various aspects of the child’s development and the features integrated in them encourage experimentation - fabrics of different textures, vibration, noisy papers, areas suitable for pulling include grips that require use of crude and fine motor skills. When shaken they make a noise, the colored balls roll creating interest.
