Musicreed

A teaching tool for musicians, teaching music theory, scales, and rhythms of Eastern cultures (Arab countries, Indian, Chinese, Turkish, etc.).

The instrument is designed as an amulet and treats images from the world of travel as a compass that leads the musician to a new and exciting world of sounds from distant worlds. Despite its small dimensions, the product contains hundreds of modus scales, maqams, ragas, and chords from Western and Eastern music and allows musicians of all levels to learn different music genres of the Eastern and Western cultures.

The project included the development and design of a series of different products ranging from a personal learning tool, a classroom teaching kit, and a supporting app. Co-designer of the project: Ran Kazes.
